Flamingos could be fun or maybe just flamingo dancing…

If you ask me what I’m making, most of the time my answer is “A mess. I’m making a mess.” Today did get a little messy but at least I have some newly installed drip lines in the main garden to show for it.

So this was day two of large scale planting. Here is what is left… planting some cherry trees, dahlias, gladiolus, snapdragons, and seeding some corn and more sunflowers.

Cilantro is growing.

Bergamot is ready to take off.

Today I made a garden! Working back from the tulips, here is what we have in this section of the yard.
1. Broccoli & parsley.
2. Cucumbers & radishes.
3. Golden and black zucchinis & thyme, oregano, chives, basil & nasturtiums.
4. Peppers & beets.
5. Tomatoes, basil & dill.
This method of companion planting helps improve soil nutrients, keeps soil cool & weeds down, reduces evaporation, attracts beneficial predatory insects and repels pests.

What a sunny beautiful day! Perhaps a bit out of season, but todays craft was a knitted hat. Also, I’ve sold out of all my tomatoes and only have a few extra zucchini and peppers left. I’m really looking forward to getting my garden in the ground this week.

I finished a beautiful scarf today. This is the first non-wool scarf that I’ve made in years. Honestly, I love it.

My new weeder arrived today. It is FANTASTIC! If you’ve ever had to pull a lot of weeds with long tap roots, you know what a pain it is. This weeder makes it a breeze. Literally I can weed in seconds now.  So amazing!

One AMAZING weeder.

I made some display boards today. Spray painting is always fun, right? The clips are interchangeable, but I like these  clips because they stand up well to our wind levels. I also spent several hours getting to know tax laws and defining applicable taxes for each type of product I sell. It sounds boring, but it was actually pretty interesting. We even have a litter tax. Who knew?

Random rock paintings. Oregano, onions, chives, carrots, thyme, sage and parsley are growing out the tops of the raised beds. They are happy plants. Hurray!

One of today’s painting is inspired by a cross section of a lily anther, the other is not. Which one is it?
