Thinking today about how easily a species can go extinct. In 1983 the woodland mountain caribou were put on the endangered species list. However the US failed to protect these endangered species and in 2019, the last three caribou in the continental US were transferred out of the country for their wellbeing. This is a sketch of the last caribou.

It’s the last day of winter and it’s beautiful outside! I’m busy getting some home and garden work done today, including potting up plants. Hopefully this will be the last time for the tomatoes before they find their forever homes.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I celebrated with some cute little paintings today. In other news, I’m received two very broken trellises with paint peeling off them from a local community garden. Today I stripped all the non-adherent paint and repaired all the broken wood sections. Soon I’ll repaint them & get them back to the community garden in time for spring.

This is the type of quilt where I almost don’t want to show off the top until the whole quilt is complete but whatever. The colors and spacing will look more balanced in the final product and I’m exited to see that. Also, props to the cutie doing the holding and the photobombing cat.

Almost spring.

It’s still snowy outside but all the birds are on their way back. Even refilled the feeders this morning. Soon Leo will have to do all his bird watching from inside the house.

Did you know hibiscus is Hawaii’s state flower? Did you also know it’s snowed in some fashion everyday this week? After skiing today, I finally got around to plowing the driveway. Come on spring!

Today’s theme is mouse and moose. We had three moose stop by to say hi. I think they were hoping for a treat but they only found tree branches to nibble on here.
