To infinity and beyond. Let’s go! Also, burning a few trees today to keep the forest healthy.

So here is the deal, normally I try to complete a canvas painting and a sewn or quilted item each month. This month and probably next month, it’s not going to happen. *sad face* I have all the upcoming projects lined up and ready to roll, but I’m trying to get through a few logistic issues at the moment. Mainly, moving my craft space, moving several people, traveling and gardening. Wish me luck.

Today can be summed up as truck problems, moving and rock hunting at the lake.

My mom got the keys to her new house today! Let the moving commence! Staking a claim on a piece of property alway reminds me of the moon landing.

Oh hello new homes!

Not a bad view at all.

Gardening and astronomy were the themes today. I seeded lupine, hollyhocks, chamomile, moderna fistula (bergamot), Asclepias (butterfly weed), calendula, acorn squash, hasta la pasta squash, elite hybrid zucchini, burpee hybrid cucumbers,  fresh prickly hybrid cucumbers, summer dance cucumbers, sugar peas and pole beans. I feel as though I should gasp for air after that list, but I’m not done… I also planted the snap dragons, common lilacs, peking lilacs, logan berries, mock oranges, wood roses and last but not least I planted the gladiolus bulbs. If that wasn’t enough for today, it all was followed up by a several hour board meeting for our astronomy star party… and that is where this lovely picture was sketched. I’m ready for bed.

A bit stormy, but it’s a rocking day to sign papers for a new house.

Happy Earth Day. This is the finished straw flower picture made out of recycled materials that was displayed today as part of our Earth Day celebrations. In juxtaposition is a city view of cars and cement that I drove through today.

All the geraniums, fuchsias, petunias, thyme and delphiniums were potted into larger planters or hanging baskets today. They’re already starting to bloom which makes my heart happy when it’s still in the high 20s at night.

Why did the turkey cross the road? To prove he wasn’t chicken. Yes, you’re welcome, I’ll be here all day. Also, this mornings starship launch was fun to watch, especially the rapid unscheduled disassembly.

When most people think if spring showers, it’s rain. Here it’s snow. Still.

First, ugly flowers be ugly and their is beauty in that. Second, got the greenhouse cleaned up and ready to go. Best of all I evicted most of the plants from my dining room and moved them to the greenhouse.

Herons are one of my favorite birds. Largely due to their ability to be unnoticed in their surroundings, yet watchful of everything.

It’s mating season for our northern flicker woodpeckers and they are drumming on everything.

First flowers. The final piece is a work in progress, but is really like how the straw flowers came out. Also, crocuses are blooming in my yard. Hurray!

Dish towel art. Why not? It’s spring so flowers were needed. Also, in unrelated news, the straw I used to mulch ALL the garden beds with in the fall apparently was not as clean and sterile as I was led to believe. Now I have wheat sprouting everywhere. *facepalm*

Today is for the birds. Nothing serious or important.
