More paintings today. These are definitely wet. The white stripes are intentional. No fingers in the paintings today, but the honorable mention goes to my cat who left one of his hairs to be admired.

Broccoli and a few varieties of tomatoes have germinated. Rain is hopefully washing away some of the snow. Spring is coming!

If I had a dollar for every time I accidentally stuck my finger in a wet painting… Right, well these are locked away from my fingers, drying in peace. We shall see the final product in a few days.

Killing time in a hotel before a convention this morning, I made several constellations necklaces.

Experimenting with pendants. Constellations, along with their lore, are some of my favorite items in the night sky.

I don’t know if it was because this bag was slightly smaller, it had less quilting or I had already worked out the kinks, but this bag was a breeze to make today!

Also, if mountains have moods, this morning she was feeling bashful.

I made handles today! And then I finished the quilted bag. Not bad, not bad at all. It was a good use of time for a day that started out at -3F.

I made a quilted bag today. The pictures don’t do it justice but it is really pretty. The black section is quilted about every quarter inch, so it is super sturdy. Also the entire bag is fully reversible. Handles will be added in a few days.

Todays craft was a bracelet. Spent some time learning new digital art techniques and got some inspiration for a new quilted project. Hopefully this week turns out to be a bit more creative than last week.

Bracelet, glass beads and hematite.

Today was an unintentional gardening day. Last week, I brought a bunch of gardening items out of winter storage to start organizing for spring. It was not supposed to include the dahlia bulbs. So imagine my surprise when I saw them sprouting out of their winter bags on my nice sunny, warm table. Talk about waking them up early; there’s still about 12-18 inches of snow outside still! I squished them into eight gallon pots and covered them in potting soil. Hopefully that will keep them happy until May. Since I had the soil open, I got a head start on planting some seeds too. Broccoli, peppers, echinacea and four types of tomatoes filled nine seedling greenhouses (several hundred seeds). It was a fitting end to the day for my craft project to be completing more garden markers.

Todays craft was knitting a scarf. I finished it early in the morning, made a wonderful curry lentil soup and did some “yard work”.

By yard word, I mean mean burning a slash pile from some of the thinning and pruning we have been doing in the forest in the last week or two.

In case you’re wondering, the curry lentil soup was 6 mushrooms, 5 tomatoes, 2 carrots, 1 zucchini, 1 yellow squash (all diced), 1.5 cups lentils, 1 tsp better than bouillon, 3 tsp curry powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp paprika, 6 cups water & simmered for about 45 minutes. It was all vegan so I didn’t bother looking up the calories & it was delicious.

Made some garden markers today. I have a few more that I’ll finish up tomorrow and I’ll probably make a few duplicates too. I’m pleased with how they turned out.

A new type of craft today, Braille Flashcards. With tactile letters and numbers and holes for the braille, these cards will help both sighted and blind learn braille.
