Ah ha! It is finished! Well, sort of. The quilt top is done. I may add a thin border or two before I do the quilting. Either way, I think it turned out lovely! Just like the sunset tonight and my cute quilt model!

It seems like this week has just blown by. It’s been SO busy. The veggie and herb gardens are in full swing, plus we got all of the tea garden weeded. We are almost ready to lay down landscaping fabric there (legit tired of weeding while the plants fill out). We also cemented in four posts for future gates on our driveway, which was fun and only slightly messy. I made a cabled picture hanging system to better display pictures at my farmers market booth. The cables are each 6 feet of 1/8” 316 stainless that I had in the garage and I swaged some ferrules on them to make looped ends. It worked well at the market today and there was a lot of interest in my paintings.

No weeds! Hurray!

Christmas ornaments… and so they start… need I say more? These started out clear and got there polyurethane and glitter coating today. In a few days, I’ll add the vinyl and ribbons. Also, check out some of the squash pictures forwarded to me. They were grown from some of my veggies starts earlier in the season. Happy veggies make happy people!

Today was a fairly productive sewing day. I finally have all the quilt blocks needed to start piecing together this month’s quilt top.  Also, I had a lovely tomato harvest this morning.

Another water color day.  I also decanted both wines & moved them into their secondary fermentation stages today. I haven’t mentioned much about the garden recently, but it’s doing fairly well. We’ve been enjoying produce from it for a few months now. The tomatoes, peppers and herbs are still my favorites.

Sunshine, sunshine, it’s fine. I feel it in my skin, warming up my mind. Sometimes you gotta give in to win. I love the days when it shines, whoa let it shine. - Atmosphere.

Finished making the kitchen towels today. I also dried oregano, which is my most favorite herb, and made spiced plum jelly. The recipe for this batch is 6lbs plums (after pitting) blended smooth, 6 cups sugar, 1 Tbsp cinnamon, 2tsp cardamon, 1tsp ginger and 1tsp vanilla - boiled to 220F (minus 1F for every 500ft in elevation.)

My house smelled heavenly today on account that I was drying sage. I also started the annual plum wine… that’s right it’s “Plummy 2022”! This time it is using the yellow variety of plums. And lest I forget, this is the recipe for this batch… 16lbs plums after pitting (smashed with a potato smasher), 10lbs sugar, 4 gallons DI water, 5 campden tablets, 1 tsp tannins, 4 tsp acid blend, 3.5 tsp yeast nutrients, 4 tsp pectin enzymes, and 1 packet of wine yeast.

I should probably make a disclaimer that I don’t sell any wine or dried food. Also, a friendly reminder that this blog is just a journal of daily creative endeavors and only some of the items featured here may eventually be sold.
